Current and Upcoming Shows STATIONS: A GAY PASSION BY DELMAS HOWE 2005 " The Truth or Consequences of Delmas Howe" 2005 “Stations” "This series has the same seminal importance for contemporary gay art that Judy Chicag's 'The Dinner Party' had for feminist art." "America is above everything a moral country, and Delmas Howe
is a deeply moral artist. He uses art to challenge our perceptions of
what is good and what is bad, what is right and what is wrong. His great
series 'The Stations' is much more than simple gay polemic. It is directly
descended from the work of the great French Revolutionary artist Jacques-Louis
David, and in particular from David's ever-controversial 'Marat Assassinated',
now in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Like David's masterpiece,
the paintings are a cry of pain, but also an admonition to the world
to live up to its humanitarian principles, and try to do better."
