@coinageboy Number one, the “gook” comment is rude, ignorant, and bigoted. Number two, you don’t know when this was taken. The description says “recently unearthed” and therefore could have been taken in the sixties which makes your statement about plumbers before the 70′s using it hypocritical. Number three, this was taken in South Korea, a country known for having nearly as much regulation of their foodstuffs as Japan, the only Asian country shipping food out with poison traces is China.

@coinageboy Besides all of the other shit, Pewter mixed with tomato soup creates a chemical reaction that causes the person ingesting the soup to go into a coma, Why do you think they used to put bells on top of graves that were connected to the coffins? So if people were still alive and just woke up from a coma they would know to dig them up. People have been stupid all throughout history, If you’re going to call a race dumb, Call every race dumb. There is a difference.
Romans did not know that led was killing them.
Pewter is mostly tin – not dangerous although there might be some led. Until the 70s, plumbers used tin-led mixture to sweat copper piping for drinking water. The practice was abandoned and abolished when the dangers of lead exposure became well known.
These days that information is widely available to anyone – so, I have no sympathy for idiots trying to impress spectators by eating lead..

@coinageboy And Europeans used to eat Tomato soup out of Pewter bowls, They also used to whip themselves to “Vanquish their sins.” On top of that the Roman’s sewer system was made of lead.

@ray0426jh Eating poisons like lead, arsenic, cyanide Etc… is not impressive, just dumb. There is no mechanism in the human body to deal with these chemicals and there is no human who can do that without severe (often fatal) consequences.
Unfortunately, Asians seem to have so much disregard for others that poisons often end up in their food imports int the USA.
